The theme of this book is evident as you read of these characters’ struggles: “… My grace is sufficient for thee: for My power is made perfect in weakness…” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Mrs. Sawyer has created unforgettable characters and a plot very close to her own heart. Her family came from Russia during this time, bringing with them their Mennonite faith as well as the hearty wheat kernels that Kansas is now known for. Mrs. Sawyer has done a wonderful job on this new book, weaving the lives of two friends together in a touching way. Full of unforgettable characters, heartbreaking loss, and a deep faith in God, this book will keep your attention from the beginning and not let you go until you’re finished!
