Wagered Heart by Robin Lee Hatcher!

When Bethany Silverton left the genteel life of Miss Henderson’s School for Young Ladies
back in Philadelphia for the raw frontier town of Sweetwater, Montana, she had no idea how much she would enjoy the freedom and danger of this wild country.

A conservative preacher’s daughter, Bethany can’t resist the challenge of charming the most attractive cowboy in town into attending her father’s new church. She never dreamed that the cowboy would charm the lady.

But Hawk Chandler isn’t the only man vying for Bethany’s affections. Ruthlessly ambitious Vince Richards thinks Bethany is perfect for him: attractive, gracious, just the woman to help him become governor. And he is determined to get what he wants at any cost.

Drawn to one man, an obsession of another, Bethany’s quiet life is thrown into turmoil. She wagered her heart on love. Now she has gotten more than she bargained for—and the stakes are about to become life and death.

Wagered Heart by Robin Lee Hatcher is, from my view point, one of my favorite books I read this year. The story is a little slow at first, but like all good stories it gets better. If you decide to read this book, don’t get frustrated with it in the beginning because it’s well worth sticking with. Miss Hatcher definitely did a great job with this book, the story just amazing. I could really just go on and on about it. I actually read this book with a friend and it took everything I had to put it down after two chapters every night, in fact I think we changed it to four chapters a night after a while. This book is an amazing read and I highly recommend it. Robin Lee Hatcher had created the best of the best with Wagered Heart!

Have a great day and a wonderful month of October,

Thousand Foot Krutch- Welcome to the Masquerade

“Between the economy and everything else, this is as good a time as has ever been to drop our stereotypes—all the stuff that separates us—and get down to the black and white of loving people as God intended it to be.” ~Trevor McNevan~

Alright, so I’m sure that most of you that know us probably think we don’t look like the kind of people that would listen to louder music. Well… surprise! We absolutely LOVE Thousand Foot Krutch and their music. Their newest release, Welcome to the Masquerade is definitely one of my favorite CD’s from them. From the beginning to end, TFK has definitely not disappointed loyal fans. Songs like Fire It Up and Smack Down make you smile with the head banging beats, and the slower tunes like Watching Over Me and Forward Motion have relatable issues weaved into them.
As lead singer Trevor McNevan says about the CD: “We all wear masks. We hide what we don't want people to know we're thinking or feeling. And that's easy to get away with when life is so busy. A lot of times, we have no idea what's really going on in the life of the person right beside us."
This CD is definitely NOT a disappointment! Another great music choice for all those teens out there that are trying to find a band that their non-Christian friends can listen to without getting a bad message. For everyone out there that’s looking for something to bop your head to, enjoy!

Elyssa =)

A Man of His Word by Kathleen Fuller

In just a few short months, Moriah Miller's perfect life unravels. Newlywed and newly pregnant, Moriah is abandoned by her husband, Levi. He's left her, his family, and their faith without a backward glance. The community, stunned, rushes to the young woman's aid.

But there is someone who feels more than just sympathy for Moriah. Gabriel Miller--Levi's twin--longs for an intimate commitment that might someday bind them to one another. Convinced of the impossibility of his dream, Gabriel settles for a mere friendship with the woman he loves.

Moriah bravely goes on with her life, adjusting to her new role in their tight knit Amish community and preparing for the birth of her child. She is unaware that her brief marriage--once idealized as the happiest time in her life--may have been merely a shadow of the kind of love God has created her for. A love that can mend the soul, renew her heart, and give her a future filled with hope...if only she'll let it.

A Man of His Word by Kathleen Fuller is an inspiring novel about forgiveness and love. For me, the adventure Miss Fuller takes you on with Moriah was well worth the $14:99 most book stores ask for. Just the way she captures one’s attention with her beautiful writing style, and artful way of portraying these peaceful people you will definitely be taken aback. I’ve read many Amish novels before, mostly Beverly Lewis, and Kathleen Fuller definitely doesn’t disappoint with this book. I was awed by this story, my heart was touched by the love it held. Most definitely, I recommend this book to you readers! If you like to curl up on the couch on one of those cold, winter days, this book is definitely a good choice. Thank you Miss Fuller, for this amazing inspiring novel!

Have a blessed day as the winter approaches.

Hannah Montana The Movie

As Hannah Montana's begins to take over her life, Miley Stewart, on the urging of her father takes a trip to her hometown of Crowley Corners, Tennessee to get some perspective on what matters in life the most. Follow Miley as she finds out what means more to her- her rock star life, or her friends and family. Will she choose the life she's always dreamed of, or will she choose to just be Miley Stewart?

To be honest, this was a really good movie. Full of laughter and fun, you'll find yourself being sucked into the plot, and hoping Miley chooses the right thing to do. Including the regular cast from the TV show, you'll find new characters that are as likable as the ones you've known from the show. And for all you country music fans, keep your eyes open for guest appearances from Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts. By the time you're done watching this movie, I promise you'll have different songs in your head, and for about a week later, you'll still be bopping your head! Definitely a movie that's fun for the whole family! Hope everyone has an awesome weekend and a blessed month!

In Jesus,
Elyssa =)
